Seeing Double
Roughly half the stars in the sky are members of double or multiple
star systems. More than just a curiosity, this fortunate state of affairs provides
us with vital clues in understanding the nature of the stars. In today's lecture
we explore the use of binary stars as keys to understanding the basic properties
of stars.
